Super quaint new bath update...
It's a super quaint modest bath, but where did we even start! Whew...completely tore out old funky shower surround...that wall board should never have been in there. New tile, the mini gray subway was a nice way to work in a little neutral detail for very strain on the budget. Lots of demo on cRaZy-town built-ins to open the room up, new sink, fixtures etc that actually fit (could barely open door in front of the bulky old sink) and we bought new white storage units. Radiator got a fresh coat of paint, and hung towel rack over it for yummy warm towels in the winter. We put in a more vintage, but larger oval mirror medicine cabinet and light fixture, but were able to reuse the old rugs and brought in some navy and white pattern and bamboo blinds for texture.
I really like these sweet little bathrooms, loved working on it!

Whisks and Under Arm Turns...
This is a new dance piece done by repeatedly doing Samba whisks and under arm turns. I added red punctuation onto it today...I got my non-toxic pastels in the mail, they are gorgeous, GORGEOUS (by Mungyo) and I have a space in mind for displaying this piece, that would finally be in context to dancing! I'll post more on that soon...

My Prints are for SALE!!
Now open: Print Shoppe!!
Here's a couple more prints available for sale on archival paper...these are reprints of drawings made by making a rubbing of tar patches, then reworking them with colorful pastels for a Pop-meets-organic vibe!
Prints are available!!
YAY! I have wanted to do this for a long time...I finally have made prints of four original works, they are available through the 'Print Shoppe' on my website: http://interiordesignminnesota.com/section/305770_Print_Shoppe.html
Hopefully there will be more to come soon, but for now I have had scans made of these works and they can be printed at nearly any size if needed, but for the moment 16 x 20" sizes are available!

1-millionth incarnation of the same bedroom!
This is the 1-millionth incarnation of our tiny cozy bedroom: painted the fabric headboard and clear-coated with gloss to look like vinyl or leather, ivory velvet drapes, abstract painting (so new it's still wet), and dark teal (in love with these) lattice sheets....gotta have a little leopard, too, and up-cycled a stool for our dog to get on the bed...colors: bright orange, ivory, gray, dark teal

New fireplace, 'clinker brick' stone
This was a recent installation, the outside of the house has areas of a similar veneer stone, but it's a larger scale with gray grout and brick mixed in...we decided to tighten up the spacing and make the grout/mortar a more decorative tan and apply the pieces with a lot of irregular movement, like clinker brick. The room looks great so far and is coming together nicely!

Staged loft...Historical St. Paul
Not quite on the market, yet, but here's a loft I staged for a client, she was so great to work with, can't wait for showings to start!
For Ms. Walters
I promised to put this image on here! So here's the West Coast Swing 'sugar pushed'...made with charcoal on dance shoes on paper, then added clear AB crystals, the close-up was in an earlier post, hard see detail here.

Nuetral Master bedroom progress...
So far so good, nightstands to come and the new carpet will be really amazing, it has this dupione-silk linear texture, yum, can't wait to photograph it...the new bed, textiles, custom art and sconces look great in the meantime!

Pink Bling Sculpture
We were inspired by the new hot pink tassel fringe added to the drapes and the velvet zebra pillow, so added this pink version of my recent mirror sculpture obsession! It really sparkles in the room!

Paige!!
I helped decorate this room several years ago, she's since outgrown it of course! So we painted the walls a very pale teal, painted a vintage headboard white, and made a mirror sculpture for over the bed...new vibrant teal drapes and hardware...satin hot pink sheets (this might have made her sisters jealous!), a more grown-up bedside lamp and storage boxes to help her stay organized!

Oceania update...
So, I decorated this room last year, but when a new duvet was needed it threw the color palette off a bit, so we got just a few things to reconnect the dots. New chevron shams with the zebra duvet, a cozy white throw and deep red fur pillow, funky black and white velvet pillow on the armless sofa and a new light fixture with a drum shade made of crystal. The happy accident here was the new light fixture casts this light pattern on the walls that looks like the reflection off of a pool!

Ballroom Gesture #2: Sugar pushes
This is another pattern from West Coast Swing, a 'sugar push.' I repeated the same action without a partner, still thinking of these as sketches, but could serve as a movement map for other work, paintings, etc.

Practice: gesture of an underarm turn

Here's a new drawing...the drawing implement is a pair of suede dance shoes, my feet, and loose charcoal. I repeated the same underarm turn motion over and over. Then flipped the image upwards to show the marks out of context to the floor...I think it looks quite floral-explosion-y!
Now I just need huge paper
to do larger ballroom dance patterns!...for now the sketches will be interesting to experiment with...I am hoping for some connection to calligraphy and gesture drawing.

Lilly mural in subtle metallics
The adjacent master bedroom is almost finished, but just added the mural in the bath yesterday. We had a wall color of soft gray and added a really subtle metallic Lilly 'vine.' The lillies are in several soft shades of ivory, green leaves have some variation, too, with a little copper metallic. There are plum buds that show up here and there to work in the new towels. It's super subtle over-all, but really changed the room, can't wait to show the master suite!
