Heartfelt home decoration...
The white on white-ness allows the handling to appear on this piece. A staged grubbiness applied to resemble accumulated handling by sighted viewers, mostly curious about the Braille itself. the marks occur on the frame's edge and over the Braille embossing: "heartfelt"....might be nice on an entryway console where visitors are welcomed to the home. Able to see, I realized my handling of the object is like experiencing another person's point of view, I sort of fixated my touch on what was less familiar to me. It's amazing how intimidating and difficult it is to try and read the Braille letters with my fingertips, not my eyes! I hadn't realized how hard that would be...will have to incorporate that frustration, somehow. Recessed Braille, where the dots are concave, not convex, is even harder to read...maybe that could be effective.
